Yesterday was truly an amazing day full of adventure.

The Mentor

On NetworthIQ, I asked if someone would be my mentor, and I found one. As a professional musician, I’ve had mentors to challenge me, give me feedback, and keep me accountable most of my life. I felt it was time to seek out someone to mentor me in my quest to become a millionaire. He’s very straightforward with me and I really appreciate that. He’s also gone out of his way to analyze my budget and give me some great feedback.

The Game

My mentor told me about The Grocery Game. The Grocery Game tracks items on sale. It then shows you if the item has a manufacturers coupon or a store coupon. The Grocery Game will help you save up to 60% on groceries!

The Experience

After learning about The Grocery Game, my girlfriend and I got right to work. We started making our food list, checking circulars, and using The Grocery Game. We went grocery shopping together and had a blast. I have never spent so much time in a supermarket. We analyzed and compared the prices of every item.

The Challenge

We came home from grocery shopping, made sandwiches, packed a cooler, and drove to Cold Spring, New York. We climbed Mount Taurus and almost made it to the top. Dusk was approaching so we had to head back down. We then drove to a spot by the river and ate our sandwiches. We listened to Stevie Wonder – Song Review: Greatest Hits in the car.

The Prize

When we got home, we relaxed.Then I made the best black beans and rice dish that I’ve ever tasted. She and I had a wonderful talk about how much we enjoyed trying to save money grocery shopping today. We both think it’s great for our relationship.
